Coupon aggregators list dozens of codes for restaurant chains. Most either expired long ago or never existed, because these chains rarely issue public codes at all.
What does exist is worth more than the codes would have been.
What genuinely exists
Four mechanisms, all real and checkable:
- The rewards app — free, points toward a free regular sub, plus a sign-up incentive and birthday reward.
- App-exclusive offers — rarely advertised in shop, so counter customers routinely pay more.
- Gift card bonus promotions — around the winter holidays, often worth a meaningful percentage of the spend.
- Local franchise promotions — mailers and lunch specials that vary shop to shop.
Why the code sites fail
They scrape and republish rather than verify. A code that worked once for a limited regional test gets listed indefinitely, and the site has no incentive to remove it — a failed code still earned the click.
What beats a coupon
Dropping the drink and side saves roughly $5.50, which exceeds most promotions. Splitting a giant beats two regulars. Ordering collection instead of delivery avoids a 15 to 25% menu markup plus fees.
