Mini vs Regular vs Giant: Which Size to Order
Three sizes, and the price does not scale in a straight line. That is the whole reason this decision is worth two minutes of thought.
Mini — about 5 inches
Roughly two-thirds the price of a regular for about two-thirds the bread, but proportionally less filling. If you routinely leave part of a regular, this is the better buy.
If you finish a regular comfortably, a mini leaves you short and you add a side, which cancels the saving.
Regular — about 7 inches
The default, and the size every price and calorie figure on this site refers to. It is the right benchmark for comparing against what you actually paid.
Giant — about 14 inches
Roughly double a regular in price for double the length, but built with proportionally more filling. Split between two people it beats two regulars on both cost and quantity.
Eaten alone across two sittings it is fine, but the second half suffers — the roll softens in the fridge and the vegetables weep.
Above three people
The arithmetic shifts again toward catering boxes priced per head, which generally undercut the same number of individual subs and arrive with sides bundled.
Frequently asked
Is a giant cheaper than two regulars?
Per person, generally yes, and you get more filling each. That advantage disappears if one person eats it across two days.
How big is a mini?
Around five inches, and it appears on the kids menu from roughly $5.99.
Which size do the prices on this site refer to?
Regular, unless an item says otherwise.
